The weekend of September 9th – 11th 2011 saw the staging of the third Newark Blues Festival, the only event of its kind in the East Midlands area.

The Festival took place in numerous venues across the town with feature events “Blues the Next Generation”, "Acoustic Blues" and “Blues at the Castle” being hosted in the grounds of Newark Castle on Saturday 10th September. Sunday 11th September also saw Newark Blues Festival once again hosting the British Blues Awards, this time featuring its own main stage event with lots of special guests and performances.

With top national blues artists performing, as well as established local bands, the event attracted attendees from all over the UK and beyond.

Newark Blues Festival is organised and staged by a group of musicians and music enthusiasts on a not for profit basis with the intention of it becoming an established annual event, growing and improving each year.
