Blues at the Castle
To be hosted once again in the grounds of historic Newark Castle on Saturday 11th September, the "Blues at the Castle" special event will feature four top UK bands performing first class modern and traditional blues.
The 2009 event showcased local Newark bands The Unusual Suspects and Stormy Monday who provided admirable support for the awesome Oli Brown Band and King King. Check out the videos on the Media page.
The second annual Newark Blues Festival will take place over the weekend of Friday 10th - Sunday 12th September 2010.
Upwards of twenty-five bands will be playing over the weekend at venues around Newark.
In addition to the venues there will also be a series of events hosted in the grounds of Newark Castle on Saturday 11th September.
"Blues Workshops"
Workshops will be held to help young performers to learn a little about basic chord progression and soloing before taking to the main stage for a bit of a jam.
"Blues the Next Generation"
A free to enter two hour performance featuring three superb acts, all under the age of sixteen.
"Here Come the Girls"
A fantastic two hour, free to enter, event featuring two great established female blues artists.
"Blues at the Castle"
Saturday night brings us four top UK acts in a five hour blues spectacular. Ticket prices and availability will be announced shortly.
Newark Blues Festival's partnership with top national event management company, Liz Hobbs Group, means that all the events hosted in the grounds of Newark Castle will be staged and produced to the very highest of standards.
